Have you guys seen? A new poster and teaser trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was just released today. Even though the film won’t be released until next year, fans have been chomping at the book for any and all information they can get on the upcoming sequel. I really like the overall feel of the poster which I am assuming it supposed to look like an album cover. Everyone looks super badass and I am excited to see where the next movie goes. I am actually trying not to hear too much about it before it come… Read more »

A new teaser trailer for the Netflix production of A Series of Unfortunate Events was recently released, and it’s definitely a tease. As you’ll see below, the trailer doesn’t really tell us much about what the series will be like but it’s kind of cool seeing Patrick Wharburton as Lemony Snicket. I think I am one of the few people who actually liked the film version of this book. I really liked the costuming and overall feel of the film and am curious to see what direction the series goes in. I’ve seen a few stills from the set which… Read more »
Hello, dear readers! Well it’s been a couple of weeks since the insanity that is Comic-Con. I feel like it was all kind of a dream still but I am slowly getting back into real life. I had a really good con this year. It was another laid back year for me. I definitely had some panels and signings I wanted to get to but nothing I would be heartbroken about if missed. This year I focused on a lot of bookish and comics related panels with a few TV panels thrown in. I didn’t get to any of the… Read more »
The official trailer for Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was just released. The trailer definitely has that Tim Burton flavor of the strange and wonderful. While the beginning scene with the entrance to Miss Peregrine’s world is quite different than what I recall from the book, it definitely makes an impression. Who else will be seeing this when it hits theaters this September?
Hello there. Sorry for the last of posts this week. I totally meant to blog but, somehow, the week got away from me and now it’s Friday. I know it’s a bit late for a best of 2015 list (as it’s almost February) but I had this list made up a while ago and forgot to post it. I figured I would share it with all of you here just for fun. This wasn’t a great film year for me. I know there were lots of good movies released but many of them just didn’t interest and so I stuck… Read more »
The first trailer for AMC’s Preacher premiered last week. The show is based on a popular comic book series from the 90’s. I was a really big fan of the series as a teen and was excited to hear that someone was actually going to try to adapt it for television. It’s really hard to describe this series but it’s about a Texas preacher, Jesse Custer, who becomes joined with Genesis, a being who is the result between a demon and an angel. Through Genesis, Custer gains powers that basically allow him to make people do whatever he wants. He goes on a journey to find God, who has left Heaven, to hold him accountable for his actions. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. It all sounds a bit crazy, and it is, but in an awesome way.
The BBC just dropped a new teaser for Sherlock: The Abominable Bride special that will air on January 1, 2016. Watson and Sherlock meet for the first time in this trailer and it’s oh so good. As much as I love Sherlock, I love Watson more. I’ve always loved the long suffering partner types and Martin Freeman is fantastic as the voice of reason to Sherlock’s manic genius. I really can’t wait for this one. Who is your favorite – Sherlock or Watson?
Halloween is almost upon us! Does everyone have a costume? It’s normal to buy 5 bags of candy when you don’t get trick or treaters, right? Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I am really excited for it to come this year. In anticipation, I’ve been watching scary movies over the last few weeks. I have also been watching a lot of Halloween movies that aren’t necessarily scary, but are still in the Halloween spirit. That’s not to say that they are all necessarily kid friendly (each child is different and you should choose appropriately) but are good for when you want something with a Halloween vibe that even your friends who hate horror can enjoy. Or, for my purposes, films I can play during my work pumpkin carving lunch that’s appropriate for everyone. Below are a few of my favorite non-scary Halloween movies.
I think this trailer may have broken the internet for a few minutes earlier this week. Yup, the full trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released this week and made so many people happy. Like many, I had my issues with the last 3 films, but I am being cautiously optimistic about this one. The footage looks fantastic and it’s so fun seeing some of the original actors back in action. Not going to lie, I already have tickets to see this on December 17. :) I need to re-watch the original 3 movies again before I see this…. Read more »
Ahhh! The new trailer for Marvel’s Jessica Jones just dropped and man, it looks good. Netflix has been killing it lately and if the trailer is any indication, they are going to continue that streak with Jessica Jones. If you didn’t know, the show is based off the comic book Alias, written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Michael Gaydos (with covers by one of my all-time favorite artist David Mack. It’s the story of a former costumed superhero turned private investigator. As you can see from the trailer, there are things in Jessica’s past that don’t want to stay… Read more »
