WonderCon Spotlight: Orphan Black

OrphanBlack-WonderCon2015-2
Marie Doyle Kennedy and Evelyne Brochu

Hi, everyone! This is another post in my series of super late event recaps. I attended WonderCon at the end of March and I only attended two panels while I was there (the rest of the time was spent wandering the convention  floor). I already wrote about the iZombie panel here (and yay! it was renewed for a second season), but I also went to the Orphan Black panel. I am a huge fan of Orphan Black and was excited to get a chance to see the cast and learn more about Season 3 of the show (which just started a few weeks ago!). Almost everyone from the cast was there, except Tatiana Maslany. Unfortunately she could not make it but she did record a cute message for all of the WonderCon attendees. Panelists included co-creator and writer Graeme Manson, stars Jordan Gavaris (Felix), Dylan Bruce (Paul), Maria Doyle Kennedy (Mrs. S), Evelyne Brochu (Delphine), and Kristian Bruun (Donnie).

I had a great timing listening to the cast. It’s clear that they all love working on the show and that they really appreciate their fans. They showed a lot of footage (which I am sure you can find online by now) and answered questions from the audience. Below are a few pics and a sampling of things we heard about during the panel.

Felix and Cosima will be spending more time together in Season 3.

In Season 3, Delphine will have a chance at revenge.

When asked to say something about their character that no one knows, the cast responded:

Felix has never been in love.
Mrs. S doesn’t like tea (Doyle then laughed and said it wasn’t true).
The real reason Paul orchestrated the trade for Helena was so that he could put another notch in his clone belt. (joke)
Delphine never wanted to be in love.
Donnie is tougher than he looks.

I was really impressed with the cast. They have a great rapport and they were all very excited about the new season of the show. It was a bummer that Maslany couldn’t be there but I had a great time listening to the cast and learned lots of fun things about the show and some of my favorite characters. Orphan Black season 3 has already started! I have not watched the new season yet, but plan to really soon (like maybe this weekend).

Anyone else a fan of Orphan Black? Who’s your favorite clone? I have to say Sarah with Cosima being a close second. And I love Felix. :)
