Uncovered (152): This Adventure Ends by Emma Mills

Who says you can’t judge a book by its cover? While it’s not the only factor in picking up a book, a pretty cover doesn’t hurt. Uncovered is a (semi) weekly post where I show some cover love. Enjoy!

Happy Friday, everyone! I am really excited about this week’s Uncovered feature. Emma Mills seems to be blessed with great book covers. Her last novel, First & Then, also appeared in an Uncovered post last year. Her upcoming novel, This Adventure Ends, is just as eye catching and I can’t wait to add it to my bookshelves. I love that this looks like an actual painted canvas. I see the texture in the paint and love how the colors are mixing together. It also reminds me a little bit of cake icing, which is not a bad thing. Below is a synopsis of the novel.

Sloane isn’t expecting to fall in with a group of friends when she moves from New York to Florida—especially not a group of friends so intense, so in love, so all-consuming. Yet that’s exactly what happens.

Sloane becomes closest to Vera, a social-media star who lights up any room, and Gabe, Vera’s twin brother and the most serious person Sloane’s ever met. When a beloved painting by the twins’ late mother goes missing, Sloane takes on the responsibility of tracking it down, a journey that takes her across state lines—and ever deeper into the twins’ lives.

Filled with intense and important friendships, a wonderful warts-and-all family, shiveringly good romantic developments, and sharp, witty dialogue, this story is about finding the people you never knew you needed.

The cover doesn’t really tell you much about the plot but it’s pretty enough that I don’t care. Guys, this book has twins in it. I have a thing for stories about twins. I am definitely putting this one on my to-buy list. Tell me what you think of this cover in the comments below. Have a fantastic weekend!
