Hello and welcome to Stacked, a weekly (usually) post where I discuss what books I’ve recently bought, borrowed or received.

Happy Tuesday, everyone. I know this post is a bit late but I just got back from a brief visit to see my family. I hit a crazy heat wave while I was away, too. I am in SoCal so I usually get hotter weather than where my family but somehow we switched weather patterns this weekend. I was happy to find that it was much cooler in L.A. when I got back. I love summer but I am not the biggest fan of very hot weather. Hopefully the really high temps stay away for a few more weeks. I have been gearing up for summer reading. Hopefully I will be have a post up soon about some of the books I plan to read this summer. In the meantime, here are a few books I’ve picked up recently.

Idol by Kristen Callihan – Newest comtemporary romance novel from Kristen Callihan. This is a rock romance. Since I read everything by Callihan, I picked it up on my Kindle on release day (today!).

Serpentine by Cindy Pon – I actually have a signed copy of this already but bought the eBook over the weekend when it was the Kindle Daily Deal for just $0.99. Serpentine is a young adult fantasy set in the ancient Kingdom of Xia and inspired by the rich history of Chinese mythology. I hope it’s good because I have 2 copies now. ;)

Never Seduce a Scoundrel by Sabrina Jeffries – This is the first book in the School for Heiresses series. I’ve read other books in this series before but, for some reason, I didn’t go in order (which I usually do). It’s about a brash American trying to find out information about a possible escaped criminal. He gets close to her stepdaughter to get more information. I am reading this one right now and am enjoying it. The two main characters have good chemistry and they’re both keeping secrets, and they are fun to watch.

What books have been keeping you up late recently?
