Fall Movie Picks

NiteLite-FallMoviePicks

Hello! I can’t believe that fall is almost here. Where in the world did this year go? Fall is one of my favorite seasons though and I am looking forward to the cooler weather. Fall also means a shift from the big summer blockbuster movies into the more serious fall fare. Though I haven’t reviewed a movie in a long time, that doesn’t mean that I am not watching them. Going to the movies is one of my favorite activities and there are so many great movies coming out this fall that I thought I’d share some of my most anticipated films with you all. Let’s take a look!

Before I Go To Sleep, starring Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth and Mark Strong is a creepy tale of a woman who has amnesia. She wakes up every day not knowing who she is and has to re-learn her identity every day, only to forget again the next morning.  This is based on the book of the same name by S.J. Watson. I read the book a couple of years ago with my book club and enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing it on the big screen.

I haven’t had a chance to read The Maze Runner yet but I think the trailers look great. It’s looks very action oriented and tense. I’d like to read the book before the movie comes out.

I just realized that all of my picks so far are based on books. :) This Is Where I Leave You is based on the novel by Jonathan Tropper. I haven’t read this book but this quirky, family drama/comedy looks really funny and a little weird. It also has a great cast. Really looking forward to this one.

Not much to say about The Boxtrolls except that it looks strange and cool.

I am really excited about Interstellar after seeing the panel at Comic Con. Christopher Nolan always makes interesting movies so I am excited to see how he handles space. The trailer reminds me a little bit of the Danny Boyle movie Sunshine (without the scary bits). It was shot in IMAX, too, and I think it’s going to be really beautiful.

Birdman looks like a really strange movie and I’m not even completely sure what it’s about, but I want to see it. I like movies with a surreal touch and it boasts a great cast.

Kinsgman looks like so much fun! I am a big fan of director Matthew Vaughn (Stardust, X-Men: First Class) and it has Colin Firth and Mark Strong to recommend it as well.

Those are my fall movie picks. See anything on this list that interests you? Let me know what movies you’re looking forward to this fall in the comments below!
