In A Nutshell: Cherish Hard, Head On, and Crazy Rich Asians

Hi! I am back today with mini reviews of a few books that I’ve finished recently. I went through a reading slump recently but it’s slowly coming back to me. With summer around the corner I hope to get even more reading in. I rarely

Review: Mortal Heart by Robin LaFevers

Review: Mortal Heart by Robin LaFevers

I picked this book up about a year ago, excited to finally finish this great series, when I found myself losing interest and putting it down. I didn’t think I’d wait this long to come back to it, but I’m glad that I did. I picked up where I left off and was immediately drawn back into this world of magic, gods, and assassins. Mortal Heart gets off to a much slower start than its predecessors. I think the reason I stalled on it the first time was that it takes a lot longer to get into the meat of the plot than the first two books. In hindsight, however, I think the pacing fits Annith’s story well. Her life isn’t one of danger… Read more »

Review: Beautiful Boss by Christina Lauren

Review: Beautiful Boss by Christina Lauren

Thank you, Christina Lauren, for this sweet and sexy little story about Will and Hanna, one of my favorite couples from the Beautiful Bastard series. While I really do adore everyone in the series, Will and Hanna hold a special place in my heart. There was just something about their story and relationship that I fell in love from the start and I was so, so happy to hear that the author team were planning on writing a novella featuring the two… Read more »

Review: Winter by Marissa Meyer

Review: Winter by Marissa Meyer

There’s really no way to sum up this epic tome that is the grand finale of The Lunar Chronicles, but I’ll do my best. Fans of TLC will not be disappointed with this one. Yes, it’s over 800 pages long but no words are wasted. Everything that happens in the book happens for a reason and leads up to the breathless conclusion. Meyer really takes her time with this book and crafts a deft narratives that weaves together many different characters and storylines…Read more »

Noah and Kit’s story is finally here! While Nalini Singh is probably best known for her paranormal romance series (if you haven’t read them, you must!) she’s also making us swoon with her newer contemporary Rock Kiss series. She’s been releasing excerpts over the last couple of weeks and it’s been driving me crazy not being able to get the book. Thank goodness it’s now available. Check out the post below for more information and a giveaway at the end of the post.

Review: When a Scot Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare

Review: When a Scot Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare

Unlike most young ladies of her acquaintance, Miss Madeline Gracechurch does not wish for a London season. Spending countless hours at balls and parties in the hopes of finding a husband is not something that Maddie, shy and sometime awkward, is looking forward to. Instead, while on holiday before her first season, Maddie invents a dashing Scottish soldier who sweeps her off her feet and asks for her hand in marriage. Betrothed, Maddie is no longer on the marriage mart. The only problem is, her Scottish beau doesn’t exist. In order to make the ruse believable, Maddie begins to write letters to “Captain Logan MacKenzie.” Years pass and finally, unable to continue the farce any longer, Maddie “kills” her captain and is given a castle to live the remainder of her days as a spinster, which suits Maddie just fine. Just when Maddie thought her life was settling down, the fictitious Capt MacKenzie appears at her door with a troop of weary soldiers and her letters. It appears that her fake fiance is very real and has come looking for his bride.
