A Very ARCish Readathon

A Very ARCish Readathon

Hi, everyone! Popping by today to let you all know of a reading challenge that I’ve joined for the month of April. A Very ARCish Readathon is being hosted by Bookshelves and Paperbacks and the basic premise is to just read ARCs in the month of April. I’m way behind on my ARC reading and I hope that this readathon will help me get at least a few languishing books out of my TBR pile. I don’t have a big goal but below are a few books that I am going to try to read this month. A Shadow Bright and Burning… Read more »

Beat the Backlist Challenge

Beat the Backlist Challenge

It’s me again. Wow more than one post this week. I think that must be a new recent record. I am stopping by today to talk about a reading challenge that I just joined. My friend K at The Windy Pages joined the same challenge earlier this year and I am shamelessly jumping on the bandwagon. Novel Knight are hosting Beat the Backlist, a year long reading challenge that is all about catching up on that backlist of books. I buy books all the time and am super excited about them, only to put them aside for newer, shinier things. This challenge… Read more »

The Back-list TBR Read-a-Thon

The Back-list TBR Read-a-Thon

I was supposed to post about this read-a-thon earlier than this, but time just got away from me. As you can tell by the title though, The Back-List TBR Read-a-Thon is a reading challenge to, you guessed it, get some of those really old books off your bookshelf. Like any book lover I have a very large list of unread books that I am always meaning to get to. This is great but, as time goes on and new books come out, those books that I found so exciting get relegated to the bottom of the pile. When my friend… Read more »

2015 Audiobook Challenge Update #1

2015 Audiobook Challenge Update #1

Hello! This is the first update for the 2015 Audiobook Challenge hosted by The Book Nympho and Hot Listens. I signed up for this challenge at the beginning of the year and so far….I am kind of sucking at it. I went through my Goodreads list and saw that I have only listened to 1 audiobook this year (The Maze Runner by James Dashner). That’s not so terrible I guess since I only signed up to listen to 5-10 audiobooks this year, but it’s not as good as I’d like to be doing. I did start another audiobook recently but I… Read more »

2015 Audiobook Challenge

2015 Audiobook Challenge

Hi, everyone. I found one more challenge I want to sign up for in 2015. This is the 2015 Audiobook Challenge hosted by The Book Nympho and Hot Listens. I spend a lot of time in the car driving and audiobooks are a great way to pass the time and also get some reading (listening) done. I have a lot of books in my Audible library and my local library has a great audiobook library via Overdrive. Rules for this challenge are: Runs January 1, 2015 – December 31, 2015. You can join at anytime. The goal is to find… Read more »

2015 Reading Challenges

2015 Reading Challenges

2015 is almost upon us which means it’s time to figure out what reading challenges I want to participate in during the upcoming year. Right now, I have committed to three challenges, one of which I am co-hosting with my friends. Read on to see how I am going to challenge myself this year. The first challenge is The Better Late Than Never ARC Challenge that I started with The Windy Pages and The Reader’s Antidote a couple of years ago. As you might glean from the title, we want to read more of those wonderful ARCs that we receive but… Read more »

Falling For Books Recap

Falling For Books Recap

Hi, there. I am officially back from vacation today. It’s been super hard to get out of vacation mode, especially since it’s a rainy day here in LA. Yes, I said rainy. How often does that happen? I feel like we should get rain days just so that we can enjoy it (and to avoid crazy drivers who don’t know what to do when the ground is wet). As you may recall, I decided to participate in the Falling Into Books Read-A-Thon challenge hosted by The Reader’s Antidote. I knew I was going to have some down time over Thanksgiving… Read more »

Falling For Books Read-a-Thon

Falling For Books Read-a-Thon

My friend Nicole at The Reader’s Antidote is hosting are reading challenge that could not have come at a better time for me. The Falling For Books Read-a-Thon will take place over Thanksgiving break from the 27th (starting at midnight) to the 30th (ending at midnight) of November. Novellas do not count, unless you combine three or more novellas to make one novel. This is actually perfect for me right now since I am a bit behind in my reading goals for the year and I wanted to try to get a couple of books read during the Thanksgiving break. I’ll… Read more »

Bout of Books 11 Wrap-Up

Bout of Books 11 Wrap-Up

Bout of Books 11 finished up this past weekend, as expected, I did not quite meet my goals. But that’s OK because I still got a decent amount of reading done and it was fun to see what all of the other participants were up to. This is what I read last week: I am not the fastest reader so this isn’t a bad week for me. Anyone else participate in Bout of Books 11? How did you do?
