Disney just released the first trailer for their upcoming live action adaptation of Cinderella. What do you guys think? Personally, while I think this looks great visually (love those costumes!), I don’t see anything here that would really compel me to see the film. I love a good fairy tale but this doesn’t seem to tread any new or innovative ground. Cate Blanchett is a draw and it’s directed by Kenneth Branaugh so there’s a good chance I’ll probably go see it at some point despite my ho-hum response to this trailer. I just want to manage my expectations. Watching… Read more »

The teaser trailer for Insurgent came out last week. Since this is just a teaser, we don’t really get to see much. And is it just me do the effects look kind of cheesy? Maybe my eyes are just being weird but some of the jumping parts looked off. I was not a huge fan of this book but I enjoyed the Divergent movie much more than the book, either and I am hoping that the film version of this one is also more to my taste than the book. Are you guys looking forward to this one? I hope… Read more »
I just saw the trailer to Chappie the other day when I went to see Interstellar. I admit that I did not know anything about this film except that Hugh Jackman was in it. The trailer definitely piqued my interest though. The idea of what does it mean to be human has always interested me and I think this one might be good. It’s directed by the same person who did District 9, which I really liked.
Disney just released the first featurette for Into The Woods, which comes out this Christmas. I don’t know about you, but I can never get enough of fairy tales and this one looks like a big mash-up of some of my favorites. With an all-star cast and Stephen Sondheim music, this has the potential to be really awesome. Who else can’t wait for this one?
Last week the teaser trailer for Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron was leaked. However, a new extended trailer was just released which shows us even more of the team and hints at what we can expect from the film. I am always down for a good team superhero movie and am looking forward to this one next year. Check out the extended look!
Stonehearst Asylum is an upcoming film that totally missed my radar. I found the trailer on Youtube recently though while I was looking up another trailer. This one is based on an Edgar Allan Poe short story called The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether. I haven’t read this story yet but you get the plot from the trailer. I think old school asylums are inherently creepy and this trailer confirms that. It’s kind of nice to see Kate Beckinsale in a non-action role as well. I don’t know if this will be a movie I will see in theater. I… Read more »
Now I love Liam Neeson as much as the next person but I really don’t know if there was a need for Taken 3 (or Tak3n as some are calling it). I thought the original Taken was really well done but the sequel was just so-so for me and I can’t imagine that the third film will tread any new ground. Also slightly annoyed that they decided to do away with Famke Janssen’s character. I mean, I’m still going to see it but I don’t have very high hopes. Perhaps it’ll surprise me though. What do you guys think? Are… Read more »
Tusk, the new film by Kevin Smith opens this week. As a fan of Kevin Smith and horror films, this movie seems tailor made for me. It looks strange, scary, and funny. I don’t really know what to expect but I am sure it’s going to be weird. Who else is going with me this weekend?
Hello! I can’t believe that fall is almost here. Where in the world did this year go? Fall is one of my favorite seasons though and I am looking forward to the cooler weather. Fall also means a shift from the big summer blockbuster movies into the more serious fall fare. Though I haven’t reviewed a movie in a long time, that doesn’t mean that I am not watching them. Going to the movies is one of my favorite activities and there are so many great movies coming out this fall that I thought I’d share some of my most… Read more »
The trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road debuted at Comic-Con a few weeks ago. I know that people love Mad Max (and my friend even renamed himself after the film when he was 7), but it’s never been a favorite of mine. I think I just saw it too late in life and there already so much hype behind it that I was kind of underwhelmed when I finally saw it. But I really like the look of this trailer. Visually it’s going to be fun to watch and, even with all that dirt and grit, Tom Hardy is easy… Read more »
