Featurette: Into The Woods

Featurette: Into The Woods

Disney just released the first featurette for Into The Woods, which comes out this Christmas. I don’t know about you, but I can never get enough of fairy tales and this one looks like a big mash-up of some of my favorites. With an all-star cast and Stephen Sondheim music, this has the potential to be really awesome. Who else can’t wait for this one?

Trailer: Stonehearst Asylum

Trailer: Stonehearst Asylum

Stonehearst Asylum is an upcoming film that totally missed my radar. I found the trailer on Youtube recently though while I was looking up another trailer. This one is based on an Edgar Allan Poe short story called The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether. I haven’t read this story yet but you get the plot from the trailer. I think old school asylums are inherently creepy and this trailer confirms that. It’s kind of nice to see Kate Beckinsale in a non-action role as well. I don’t know if this will be a movie I will see in theater. I… Read more »

New Trailer: Powers

New Trailer: Powers

By now I am sure that you’re all aware that Playstation is currently producing a new television based on the popular Powers comic book series by Brian Michael Bendis. This past weekend at New York Comic Con, the official trailer for the series premiered. I actually haven’t read Powers yet but I am a fan of Bendis and this looks like it could be fun. I also like Sharlto Copley and the rest of the casting looks really good. Unfortunately this is on Playstation so I am not exactly sure how I can watch this, but I’ll figure it out… Read more »

Trailer: Taken 3

Trailer: Taken 3

Now I love Liam Neeson as much as the next person but I really don’t know if there was a need for Taken 3 (or Tak3n as some are calling it). I thought the original Taken was really well done but the sequel was just so-so for me and I can’t imagine that the third film will tread any new ground. Also slightly annoyed that they decided to do away with Famke Janssen’s character. I mean, I’m still going to see it but I don’t have very high hopes. Perhaps it’ll surprise me though. What do you guys think? Are… Read more »

Trailer: Tusk

Trailer: Tusk

Tusk, the new film by Kevin Smith opens this week. As a fan of Kevin Smith and horror films, this movie seems tailor made for me. It looks strange, scary, and funny. I don’t really know what to expect but I am sure it’s going to be weird. Who else is going with me this weekend?

Fall Movie Picks

Fall Movie Picks

Hello! I can’t believe that fall is almost here. Where in the world did this year go? Fall is one of my favorite seasons though and I am looking forward to the cooler weather. Fall also means a shift from the big summer blockbuster movies into the more serious fall fare. Though I haven’t reviewed a movie in a long time, that doesn’t mean that I am not watching them. Going to the movies is one of my favorite activities and there are so many great movies coming out this fall that I thought I’d share some of my most… Read more »

Trailer: Mad Max

Trailer: Mad Max

The trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road debuted at Comic-Con a few weeks ago. I know that people love Mad Max (and my friend even renamed himself after the film when he was 7), but it’s never been a favorite of mine. I think I just saw it too late in life and there already so much hype behind it that I was kind of underwhelmed when I finally saw it. But I really like the look of this trailer. Visually it’s going to be fun to watch and, even with all that dirt and grit, Tom Hardy is easy… Read more »

Trailer: Fifty Shades of Grey

Trailer: Fifty Shades of Grey

I know this trailer was released a couple of weeks ago but I haven’t had a chance to watch it until today. Truth be told, I was a little scared to watch it. I personally have not read Fifty Shades of Grey. I know, I know, I am the smutty book queen but I just can’t bring myself to read it. I read an excerpt somewhere once and I just really did not like the writing style. Of course I’ve heard a lot about the plot and there are many different, strong opinions on the book. I don’t know if… Read more »

Comic-Con 2014 Spotlight: Television

Comic-Con 2014 Spotlight: Television

Hi, guys. I am here today to give you the scoop on some upcoming television shows that piqued my interest at SDCC this year. By the time this is posted, some of them will actually have premiered already, which means instant gratification for you. :) I’ll also mention a few of my returning favorites at the end of the post. Constantine (NBC) – Constantine is based on the popular comic book Hellblazer. You may recall that there was a film version in 2005 starring Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz. Not going to lie – I have a soft spot for the… Read more »

Trailer: Dracula Untold

Trailer: Dracula Untold

I really had no idea that a new Dracula movie was in the works until it popped up on my FB stream this weekend (occasionally FB does get it right). This looks like an interesting take on the Dracula mythos and Luke Evans is easy on the eyes. Not sure if Dracula Untold is going to be cheesy or good but chances are good that I’ll be seeing it either way. Dracula Untold hits theaters this October.
