Highlights from Comic-Con 2014

Highlights from Comic-Con 2014

Hi, everyone! I am back from San Diego. Part of me can’t believe that Comic Con is already over for this year. It was an intense 4.5 days but it was also a ton of fun and I can’t wait to go back next year. I hope to do some more detailed posts about some of the exciting things I saw and heard about at SDCC. However, I am leaving in a few days to go to Atlanta for a baby shower and my blogging time is limited. Before I jetted off again I wanted to post about a few of… Read more »

San Diego, Here I Come!

San Diego, Here I Come!

Hi, everyone. Just a really quick post to let you know that I will be in San Diego for a few days for Comic-Con. So things might be a bit quiet around here. I didn’t really schedule much and there will be no Stacked or Manicure Monday this coming week. Next weekend I am off to Atlanta for a baby shower, so yeah, lots of traveling for me. But hopefully this means I’ll get some reading time in. Comic-Con should be crazy as usual, though I think my schedule is a bit more open than it has been in recent… Read more »

Upcoming Events: LAPL Teen Book Fest

Upcoming Events: LAPL Teen Book Fest

Hi, everyone! Just a quick note that the LAPL Teen Book Fest is happening this weekend on Saturday, Oct 12. At noon we (yes, we! Thuy and Alethea) will be on a panel, Read This, I Dare You, in Meeting Room A. You can also see Alyson from Kid Lit Frenzy, Maggie from YA Anonymous, and Lee from I’m Here. I’m Queer. What the Hell Do I Read? I have never been on any kind of a panel before and I hate speaking in public, so it should be interesting. :)  You can read an interview of the panelists here! Benjamin Alire Saenz won’t be able to attend due to illness; however, Amy… Read more »

San Diego Bound

San Diego Bound

Hi, everyone. I am off to San Diego today for Comic Con. I can’t believe that it came up so quickly. I have my schedule all printed out and a list of things I am hoping to get. If you would like, you can follow me on Twitter or Instagram for updates. I am not a very good at tweeting so Instagram might be a better bet. I also bought an external battery charger for my phone this year so hopefully it won’t die in the middle of the afternoon and I’ll actually be able to use my phone during the… Read more »

If you happen to be going, give a shout out. I’d love to say hi. Leigh Bardugo Monday June 3, 2013 7PMSiege & Storm Launch Party Hemingway’s Lounge6356 Hollywood BlvdLos… Read more »

Comic Con Recap: Friday

Comic Con Recap: Friday

Hello again and welcome to my Day 2 Comic Con recap. Friday was the big day of the Firefly 10th anniversary panel. We knew it was a long shot but my friends and I were going to get in line to see if we might get in. We’re not the types to spend the night so we just got there somewhat early. Unfortunately, as suspected, the line was crazy insane so we gave up. Instead, I went to the panel Art of the Thrill Kill which featured authors Barry Lyga (I Hunt Killers), Michelle Gagnon (Don’t Turn Around), Johan Harstad… Read more »

Comic Con Recap – Thursday

Comic Con Recap – Thursday

Hello, everyone! I am back and boy, am I tired. Comic Con was whirlwind of sights and sounds, as usual. I am going to do my best to recap it though you’ll have to forgive me if I resort to pictures sometimes. So we drove down late Wed night and stopped by Chick Fil A on the way down. It’s one of our SDCC traditions and we made it in about 10 minutes before they closed.  Thursday we were up bright and early to get our badges. I jumped into the exhibits hall for a bit before my first panel… Read more »

RWA Literacy Autographing Event – July 25

RWA Literacy Autographing Event – July 25

Just a quick reminder for those in the Southern California area that Romance Writers of America’s Annual Conference is coming up next week. I am not a writer but I do love romance. Luckily for me, each year RWA has an autographing session during the conference that is free to the public. Books cannot be brought in to be signed, as this is a charity event and proceeds for books sold will go to ProLiteracy Worldwide. The autographing session is on Wed July 25 from 5-8pm. The lineup is spectacular. I’ve pasted the list below so you can take a look…. Read more »

WonderCon 2012 Recap

WonderCon 2012 Recap

I am sorry it’s taken me so long to get to this recap but life’s just been crazy lately. If you may recall, a couple of weeks ago I was able to attend WonderCon down in Anaheim. I’ve been to Comic Con many times but I haven’t been to WonderCon in years. It moved down to Anaheim this year while their normal venue in San Francisco was under renovation and I jumped at the chance to go. We took the day off on Friday and headed down. It was funny but a volleyball and cheerleading tournament were also going on… Read more »
