Stacked (161)
Hi and welcome to Stacked, a feature where I discuss some of the books that I’ve recently acquired. Wow, I cannot believe that we are more than halfway through February already. I actually started this post a couple of weeks ago but am only now getting around to posting it. This week’s post features some recent advance copies that I have received. I’ve been trying to stay away from advance copies just so I can focus on my backlist but my friend Kimberly from The Windy Pages recommended a book that was on Edelweiss. That led me down a path of new books and I ended up picking up a few digital advance copies. They’re all books I am really excited about though, so yay!
For Review
By the Book by Julia Sonneborn – This is the book that my friend recommended. It’s a modern version of Jane Eyre set at a small arts college. A professor there is shocked to learn that the new president of the college is her ex-fiance who she hasn’t seen in 10 years. I finished this one last week and I enjoyed it a lot. I am a sucker for anything Persuasion so it’s no big surprise that I liked this one. I will have a full review of this one soon.
Lady in Waiting (Reluctant Brides #1) by Marie Tremayne – I haven’t read any books by this author yet but the cover caught my attention. It’s about a young heiress who goes into hiding as a domestic servant in the household of an earl. An attraction develops between her and the earl but she has to decide she wants to risk it all for love. I’ve been looking for a new historical romance series so I hope that this one is good.
Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren – I am a Christina Lauren fangirl and immediately grabbed this when I saw it. This is the first adult lit from the pair of authors and I can’t wait to read it.
These are a few of the books I am really looking forward to. I have a short trip planned later this week and hope to get some reading done while I am away. Let me know what you’ve been reading in the comments below.
