Manicure Monday (87): The Bone Season
Hi and welcome to Manicure Monday, a feature that combines my love of reading and nail polish. Each week I’ll showcase one of my current reads along with a matching book manicure.
Hi, everyone. I am finally back with another Manicure Monday. This week’s manicure was inspired by The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon. I really like this cover. It’s striking and has some great imagery that ties into the themes of the book. It was also a relatively easier manicure to create.
First I started off with 2 coats of China Glaze Queen B, which is a dark blue creme. The pictures are making the cover seem much brighter. In real life it’s a dark, deep blue.
Next, I used yellow and red acrylic paint to draw on the red flower emblem onto my middle nail. I used gold nail polish for the accents and the clock hands.
I wish you could see the symbol in the middle of the red flower better but the space for it was really small. It also blends in with the yellow paint and is hard to see.
I liked how this came out though my line work isn’t as clean as I would like it to be. Hope you guys enjoyed today’s manicure. Let me know what you think in the comments below. And if you’ve created a bookish manicure, I’d love to see it. Just leave a link in the comments.
