Uncovered (37): Empire State
Hi again and welcome to another week of Uncovered, my weekly cover feature on the blog. I spotted Empire State a few weeks ago while browsing the bookstore. It immediately caught my eye because of the illustration. The lines are really dynamic and the colors pop on the page. It’s really mysterious looking, too, because of the figure with the gas mask and the other figure who looks like he has a helmet of some sort on. And the cover jacket says it’s a noir-fantasy, which sounds pretty awesome. This is the synopsis:
It was the last great science hero fight, but the energy blast ripped a hole in reality, and birthed the Empire State – a young, twisted parallel prohibition-era New York.
When the rift starts to close, both worlds are threatened, and both must fight for the right to exist.
I love super heroes and noir so that one sounds really good to me. What do you guys think? Do you like this cover? Has anyone read this yet?
