Uncovered (128): Rooms

Who says you can’t judge a book by its cover? While it’s not the only factor in picking up a book, a pretty cover doesn’t hurt. Uncovered is a weekly post where I show some cover love. Hope you enjoy!

Hello and happy Friday! Today’s Uncovered pick is actually quite fitting as Lauren Oliver will be signing tonight at Vroman’s in Pasadena. Rooms is her newest novel, is “a tale of family, ghosts, secrets, and mystery, in which the lives of the living and the dead intersect in shocking, surprising, and moving ways.” (from Goodreads) I like creepy reads and it’s Halloween so this might be the perfect book for me right now. That’s not even mentioning the gorgeous cover. I really love this illustration and the colors really stand out. You don’t often see that shade of red/orange on a book. The roots and vines give the cover a decidedly creepy feel and is the house on fire? Clearly this book is awesome if we’re just going by the cover. :)  It makes me want to pick up the book to see what the book is about.

What do you guys think of this one? It’s a departure from her other books covers but I really like it.
