Stacked (92)
Hi and welcome to Stacked, a weekly post where I share the books that I’ve bought, borrowed or received during the week.
Hi, guys. I hope you’re all having a fun weekend. It’s super windy where I am this weekend. I was really hoping for rain but perhaps the wind will bring some. I put some books on hold at the library recently and I’ve just been waiting for a bunch of them to show up. I finally went to pick them up (and got a few more on site) and came home with a pretty awesome book haul. I really love the library. I feel like I’m “shopping” for books, only I don’t have to spend any money. It’s awesome. Go to your local library and be happy, like me. :)
(starting from the top)
Crash Into You by Katie McGarry – This is the only book not from the library. I won a copy from Harlequin Teen during the blog tour. Now I really need to read the first book in the series.
One Sweet Ride by Jaci Burton – I think this is the most recent book in the Play by Play series. I am a book or two behind but could not resist putting this one on hold. It’s got an ab-tastic cover.
Marie Antoinette, Serial Killer by Katie Alender – I’ve been dying to read this one. Love the bright colors on the cover.
One the Way to the Wedding by Julia Quinn – This from the Bridgertons series, of which I have read all but two. My local library didn’t have it but I was glad that the other library system was able to get it.
Batman: The Widening Gyre by Kevin Smith – I am a huge fan of Kevin Smith but I haven’t had a chance to read any of his work in comics. Spotted this on the shelf at the library and scooped it up.
Birds of Prey: Perfect Pitch by Gail Simone – I’ve been trying to read the older Birds of Prey run by Gail Simone but some of the earlier volumes are pretty hard to track down. So I just said f*ck it and ordered what the library had. This is the first one that came in. I am hoping it’s good.
American Vampire Vol. 1 by Scott Snyder – I actually read this when it came out in individual issues but it’s been a while and I’ve forgotten what happened. I plan on re-reading this so that I can read the next volume.
Frankenstein by Gris Grimly – Excited to see Grimly’s take on Frankenstein in graphic novel format.
Batwoman: Elegy by Greg Rucka – I’ve heard really good things about this storyline and the art looks amazing.
Batgirl: The Darkest Reflection by Gail Simone – Yes, I am on a Gail Simone kick. This is part of The New 52 and I don’t know much about it, but hoping it’s good.
