Hello and welcome to Stacked, a weekly (usually) post where I discuss what books I’ve recently bought, borrowed or received. It’s been a couple of weeks since my last Stacked post. This means that I have quite a few books to share with you today. A couple of weeks ago I went to the LA Times Festival of Books and I did do a bit of damage.

Bought

The Interestings
by Meg Wolitzer (signed) – I saw Wolitzer on a panel at LATFOB and was really impressed by how smart and funny she was so I picked up one of her adult books. This one is the story of 6 teens who meet and become friends at summer camp and follows them into adulthood.

The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord (signed) – I have not read any of Lord’s books yet but always enjoy meeting her in person. This time I decided to grab a copy of her newest book, which is a story about friendship and grief. Love this cover.

Sarah Dessen books (signed) – Sarah Dessen was at the festival and, since it was my first time meeting her, I bought a whole bunch of her books. I already had a copy of Along For The Ride signed (gifted) but didn’t own any of her other books. Believe it or not I didn’t even buy all of the books that she had. These are the ones I wanted to read the most and/or had already read. I think these will be perfect for some summer beach reading.

Prudence by Gail Carriger (signed) – Unfortunately Gail Carriger was not at the festival but I did find a signed copy of her newest book at the Mysterious Galaxy booth. This is a new spin off series based on the Parasol Protectorate books. Carriger has the best covers.

Dirty Rowdy Thing
by Christina Lauren – This was the Kindle Daily Deal for $1.99 one day last week so I had to get it. I haven’t started this series for Christina Lauren yet but have the first book in  my library. As a huge fan of their Beautiful Bastard series it’s a pretty safe bet that I am going to like this series as well.

Borrowed

It’s good to have bookish friends. I borrowed all of these last week and am super excited to read all of them!

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon – Gorgeous debut about a girl who is literally allergic to the world. As a person with a lot of allergies I can relate a bit. There’s been lots of buzz about this one and that cover is amazing!

Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson – First book in a new series from Rae Carson. This is the story of a girl who can sense gold in the earth during the Gold Rush era.

Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy – I actually don’t know much about this book but it was recommended by friends. It sounds like a really cute contemporary novel with a fun heroine.

Rapture Practice by Aaron Hartlzer – Aaron Hartzler is super funny in person and I have been meaning to read his book for a while now. It’s a coming of age memoir based on Hartzler’s own life that I think it going to be a really fun read.

I received one other book in the mail this week from an Amazon pre-order but I think I’ll save that for next week. What’s new in your mailbox?
