Stacked (140)
Hello and welcome to Stacked, a weekly post where I share with you the books that I’ve bought, borrowed or received for the week. I had a healthy book haul this week. It’s just in time, too, because the weather has suddenly turned much more winter-like here in southern California and this weekend was the perfect time to settle down with a few good books.
Borrowed
California by Edan Lepucki – Picked up this audiobook from the library the other day. This has been on my to-read list for a while now. This is a post-apocalyptic story set in Los Angeles that has gotten positive reviews.
The Sculptor by Scott McCloud – Graphic novel about an artist who makes a deal with Death to be able to sculpt anything he wants and then cannot decide what to sculpt once he has the power.
The Master by Kresley Cole – Erotica/romance book set in the world of the Russian mafia. This is the sequel to The Professional, which was a serialized novel that I had some issues with. Interested to see how book 2 is though. I’m glad that I get to read this one in one go instead of pieces.
For Review
Public Enemies by Ann Aguirre – I enjoyed Mortal Danger, the first book in this paranormal YA series about a teen who makes a bargain for her life and finds herself embroiled in a deadly game whose rules she doesn’t yet understand. Excited to see what happens to Edie in this book and I am loving the cool purple makeup on the cover.
Many thanks to my friends Alethea, Kimberly and Macmillan for this week’s book haul. What’s new in your mailbox?
