Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and The Story Siren, Stacked is a weekly post where I share with you the books that I’ve bought, borrowed or received for the week.

Hello! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. It rained here in SoCal which was a bit of a surprise. I never really expect it to rain here so it’s a nice little treat when it does. I had a pretty good book week. I won a contest from The Reading Date and received a lovely box of books. I also hit up the library, so I have a lot of fun books to show you this week.

 Bought

BeautifulBeloved-ChristinaLauren BoundbyFlames-JeanieneFrost

Beautiful Beloved by Christina Lauren – This is a short story in the Beautiful Bastard series and it’s about Max and Sara’s baby!

Bound by Flames (Night Prince #3) by Jeaniene Frost – I have no idea how I missed the fact that this book came out last week but I had to rectify that immediately. This is the third book in Frost’s Night Prince series about Vlad (yes, that Vlad), Tepes. I can’t wait to read this one!

Won
These are the books that I won from The Reading Date and are Morris Award consideration books.

Gabi, a Girl in Pieces by Isabel Quintero – Don’t know much about this book except that it has a great cover and is told in the form of a diary of one young woman’s last year of high school.

The Story of Owen by E.K. Johnston – This story has dragons and swords. ‘Nuff said.

The Carnival at Bray by Jessie Ann Foley – Set in 1993 and about a girl who is uprooted from her home in Chicago to Dublin. Sounds like it could be good and, having lived through the 90’s, I think I might enjoy a lot of the cultural references of the era.

The Scar Boys by Len Vlahos – I have been seeing this book in a lot of places lately. Another one with a great cover. It’s about a boy who is scarred by a prank as a young child and has to deal with the physical and emotional scars of that event.

The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton – This book has been on my wish list for ages so I am really excited to finally have it in my library. The cover is fabulous as well. I have seen it described as strange and magical, which are two things I love.

Borrowed

100 Bullets, Vol. 1 by Brian Azzarello  and Eduaro Risso – I read this many years ago back when it first came out in the late 90’s. I never finished the series though and wanted to re-read it. Premise is that a mysterious agent offers people the chance for revenge and presents them with an untraceable gun and 100 bullets.

Manhattan Projects, Vol. 1 by Jonathan Hickman and Nick Pitarra – Read issue #1 of this comic a while back and really liked it. What if the Manhattan Projects, the government’s atomic bomb research project, was really a front for other, more unusual research?

All Fall Down by Allie Carter – I was a little surprised to find this one at the library so soon after its release date. This new novel from Allie Carter is about a girl trying to solve the mystery of her mother’s death and uncovers an international conspiracy in the process.

As you can see, I have a lot of books to keep me busy this week. I haven’t had much time to read in the last week or so but I am hoping to get a few hours of reading time in this weekend. So what’s new in your mailbox this week?
