Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and The Story Siren, Stacked is a weekly post where I share with you the books that I’ve bought, borrowed or received for the week.

Hi, everyone. Writing today after a bit of an eventful weekend. I’ve been working on planning a baby shower with a friend, which was finally happening this weekend. Unfortunately after picking up the shower cake (flourless chocolate), I was side swiped by someone, resulting my poor car being towed away. I don’t know exactly what is going to happen to it yet but chances are good that I will need a new car. I know it’s not the end of the world and I am luckily uninjured but this is a real pain and I am not looking forward to dealing with it. So please bear with me if the blog is a bit quiet in the next couple of weeks. I had a Manicure Monday planned for tomorrow but it’ll probably be late or I might just move it until next week. Anyway, I’m just whining because this is my blog. :) This week, I only received one book for review.

I received Velvet by Temple West from Swoon Reads. I have not read a good YA vampire love story in a while and this one caught my eye. It’s about a teen who loses her parents at 17 and then finds out that her neighbor is a half-demon vampire. To protect her, he pretends to be her bodyguard. Sounds juicy, right? I hope it’s as fun as I think it’ll be. I’ve been a bit of a reading slump lately and need something to get me out of it. I think this might be just the ticket.

Happy MLK Day to everyone tomorrow. I am glad I have it off so I can use it to take care of some car stuff. Happy reading!
