Stacked (134)
Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and The Story Siren, Stacked is a weekly post where I share with you the books that I’ve bought, borrowed or received for the week.
Hi, everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday, if you celebrate. I am still on vacation, which has been very nice. I’ve been getting in a little bit of reading time though not as much as usual. But it’s good to just relax and focus on family and myself for a little while. I will definitely be sad when this vacation is over. Even though I brought a stack of books home, I could not resist getting more books this week. I actually did not get very many books for Christmas so I figured it’s OK to get myself a little something. I also stopped by the local library near my parents’ house. It’s a very nice library with this crazy cool self-checkout system that can scan 3-4 books at a time just by being hear the scanner machine. I don’t know if this is common in libraries these days but I haven’t seen it before and it’s pretty cool.
Borrowed
Battling Boy by Paul Pope – I have been meaning to read this and finally decided to pick it up when I saw it this week. I haven’t had a chance to start it yet.
American Vampire Vol. 3 by Scott Snyder – I like, but don’t necessarily love, this series. Vol 2 was quite harrowing as I recall and I am interested in seeing where this volume goes.
Batwoman Vol 1 by JH Williams – I know nothing about Batwoman but have heard good things about this new run and decided to check it out.
Bought
A Wallflower Christmas by Lisa Kleypas – I already have this in ebook but found a good copy at Goodwill. This is a really great historical romance novella set in The Wallflowers series. Highly recommend this one and the series.
Let Sleeping Rogues Lie by Sabrina Jeffries – Another Goodwill find. I enjoy Jeffries but haven’t read through her back catalog yet.
Nine Rules To Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah Maclean – One of my most favorite novels by Maclean. Really witty, sexy historical romance. Picked up a used copy from Half Price Books.
Sabriel by Garth Nix – I picked this one up a few weeks ago at the library but returned it before I read it. This was another used find. Figured if I owned a copy there would be a great chance that I would read it sometime soon.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling – The only HP book that I do not have in hardcover. I have been looking for a good used copy for a while now and finally found one this week. I really need to re-read this series.
Thanks for stopping by today. We’ll be back to some regularly scheduled posts very soon. Happy holidays!
