Stacked (127)
Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and The Story Siren, Stacked is a weekly post where I share with you the books that I’ve bought, borrowed or received for the week.
Only one more week until Halloween! If you can’t tell, I am a huge Halloween fan. I mean there’s nothing bad about candy and costumes, at least for me. I haven’t read or watched nearly as many scary things as I’d hoped to this month but I will probably just carry it over into November. Book haul this week is from the last two weeks.
Bought
The Headmaster by Tiffany Reisz – This is a short story by Tiffany Reisz from the Harlequn e-Shivers series. It was a very quick story about a school teacher who finds herself at a very strange all boys school. The stern headmaster is extremely tempting but something is not quite right at the school…This wasn’t my favorite Reisz story but it was fun and a really quick read.
Ms. Marvel Vol 1 by G. Willow Wilson (writer) and Adrian Alphona (artist) – I have never read any Ms. Marvel but picked this up on the recommendation of a friend.
Wytches #1 by Scott Snyder (writer) and Jock (artist) – This is the first issue of a new series by Scott Snyder. It’s already garnered a lot of buzz. I read the first issue this weekend and really like it so far. If you like horror, give this one a try.
Borrowed
The Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutkoski – Oooh! I loved the first book in this series and am so excited that I was able to borrow this copy from A. I don’t like this cover as much as the first one (what kind of sword holding is that), but it’s still pretty. Hopefully I will start this one soon.
Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick – I admit that I am still 2 book behind on Fitpatrick’s Hush Hush series but I have heard good things about this one and they story sounds pretty creepy.
I’ve been reading really slowly lately. Not sure what it is but the last week or two I haven’t really felt the urge to read as much as I usually do. Hopefully I’ll snap out of it soon because, as you can see, I have some really fun things to read. Happy reading, everyone!
