Manicure Monday (81): Horns
Hi and welcome to Manicure Monday, a feature that combines my love of reading and nail polish. Each week I’ll showcase one of my current reads along with a matching book manicure.
Hello! Happy Monday, everyone. I hope you all had a relaxing weekend. I didn’t do anything very exciting. It’s finally starting to feel like fall though so I am enjoying just snuggling up on the couch with a good book. For this week’s Manicure Monday I am featuring Horns by Joe Hill. I am reading this for me book club which meets tomorrow. I am super behind though so I need to power read for the next 48 hours.
This was a really easy manicure to create and only took two colors. First I painted on two coats of OPI I’m Not Really a Waitress onto all of my nails. This is a really pretty metallic red that I thought matched the cover well.
Next, I used a black creme polish (Kleancolor Black) and the side of a small beauty sponge to create a black gradient at the tips. I put top coat on when it was still slightly wet to help the two colors blend together.
Then using a small nail brush and the black polish again, I painted the pitchfork onto my middle finger. And that was it. Super easy and it looks pretty cool and appropriate for Halloween.
Are you guys reading any scary books this month? Horns is pretty creepy and actually kind of sad. I am not sure how it’s going to end but I better finish it before my book club meeting on Tuesday!
