Manicure Monday (77): Claudine
Hi and welcome to Manicure Monday, a feature that combines my love of reading and nail polish. Each week I’ll showcase one of my current reads along with a matching book manicure.
Hello! Well it’s been a couple of weeks since the last Manicure Monday. I haven’t been reading much the last couple of weeks and I didn’t have much inspiration. But I am back this week with a new book and a new manicure. This week’s manicure inspiration came from Claudine by Barbara Palmer. I picked this one up at ALA due to the urging of my friend Kimberly. I knew nothing about this book but she told me that I wanted to read it. I haven’t gotten too far into it yet but I’m intrigued.
When I first saw this cover I knew that it was make a great manicure. It was really easy to do, too, which was a nice bonus. I started off with 2 coats of a white creme with a grey cast (OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls). Next, I used a beauty sponge and the white with Essie Naughty Nautical to great a soft gradient.
I put on a layer of top coat while it was still slightly wet to blur the edges between the colors further. Then I used black acrylic paint and a small nail brush to paint the feathers.
And that was it! This was a really easy and fun manicure and I really like the results. Thanks for stopping by today. Let me know what you think of this manicure in the comments! :)
