Star Trek Into Darkness – Featurette

Star Trek Into Darkness – Featurette

Are you guys ready for the new Star Trek movie? I never watched the original Star Trek series but I thoroughly enjoyed the last Star Trek film from J.J. Abrams. This featurette certainly is action packed and the new movie promises to be just as entertaining as the first film. I don’t usually see movies in 3D but this one might be worth it in IMAX at least. Also – Benedict Cumberpatch. Star Trek Into Darkness hits theaters May 17, 2013.

Hansel and Gretel – Trailer

Hansel and Gretel – Trailer

It’s trailer time! Today I have the trailer for the new action/fantasy flick Hansel & Gretel. This movie looks pretty awful. I love fairy tales and Jeremy Renner but this just looks like it’s going to be cheesy. Am I going to see it? Heck yeah! I love ridiculous action movies and I would not miss this. :) Hansel & Gretel opens on January 25, 2013. ,

Oblivion – Trailer

Oblivion – Trailer

So I’ve been to the movies several times since I’ve been on break (Django Unchained – over the top and controversial; The Hobbit – awesome; Jack Reacher – more serious and better than I thought it would be) and each time I’ve gone they have played the trailer to Tom Cruise’s new movie, Oblivion. Maybe I haven’t been paying attention but I knew nothing about this movie. Looks like your typical dystopian sci fi movie, with Earth a barren wasteland. There’s obviously some kind of conspiracy going on and Tom Cruise gets to play the man out for the truth… Read more »

Oz The Great And Powerful – Trailer

Oz The Great And Powerful – Trailer

I know I already shared a trailer with you all this week but I went to see Lincoln tonight (surprisingly really good, not boring, and did not feel like 2.5 hours) – and I saw a new to me trailer for Oz The Great And Powerful. Like a lot of people, I have a love for all things Wizard of Oz, even bad things. And this looks pretty bad to me. I don’t know. Maybe I’ve seen too many fairy tale and Oz spin-offs or something but this looks like pure eye candy and not much else. I love visually… Read more »

World War Z – Trailer

World War Z – Trailer

First I will apologize for all of the ads on this Youtube spot. I tried to find a link with less ads but couldn’t. So sorry and please ignore the ads. Alright, so this trailer for World War Z has been out for a little while now. I was a big fan of the book by Max Brooks and I really wasn’t sure how they were going to adapt his really expansive book into one cohesive film. Watching this trailer I still can’t really tell how it’s going to tie into the book narrative. However, it does look pretty action… Read more »

Anna Karenina – Trailer

Anna Karenina – Trailer

You’ve probably all seen the trailer for Anna Karenina by now. Even though I am not the biggest fan of Kiera Knightly (seriously does her mouth ever close?) but I do really want to see this. It looks like it’s going to be such an interesting interpretation and visually, it’s quite stunning. Love those costumes! Anna Karenina just hit theaters on Nov 16. Anyone see this yet?

Mama – Trailer

Mama – Trailer

Hello, Saturday! I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far. It’s actually a bit rainy this weekend in SoCal and I am super excited. I love rain and it’s so rare that it happens down here. I am hoping to get out to a movie this weekend, though I am not sure what just yet. I think I saw a lot of the good ones already so we’ll see. Today I wanted to show a trailer for Mama, a horror film coming out in January. I just saw this trailer in the theater and it actually looked scary…. Read more »

Red Dawn – Trailer

Red Dawn – Trailer

I know, I know. I am the queen of trailers lately. Today I want to talk about Red Dawn. I am just going to admit that I don’t get this one. I never saw the original so maybe I am not the right audience. But, to me, this trailer is just…I don’t even know. It just seems uber patriotic and maybe a little dated. Even as I say that I don’t want to see this movie, I have a feeling that I’ll somehow be persuaded to go to it. It looks kind of awful but Chris Hemsworth is definitely nice… Read more »

Movie Review: Wreck It Ralph

Movie Review: Wreck It Ralph

Wreck-It RalphGenre: Family/Children’s Animated Directed by: Rich MooreStarring: John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Jane LynchRelease date: November 2, 2012IMDB, official site Review: Wreck-It Ralph is probably the best animated movie Disney has put out in a long time and really has that Pixar feel to it with fantastic animation, a great story, interesting characters, spot on voice acting, and a compelling and emotional story. Ralph is the bad guy in a video game who, after 30 years, is sick of being an outcast. He just wants to be accepted and liked but no one can see past his… Read more »

Les Miserables – TV Spot

Les Miserables – TV Spot

Looks like there is a new TV spot out for Les Miserables. This one is touting it as “the motion picture event of the holiday season.” That sounds pretty intense. :) This spot has a lot more narration than the film trailer that you’ve probably seen. This one is much more commercial and not quite as epic. The theatrical trailer features mostly Anne Hathaway’s version of “I Dreamed A Dream.” Even though I think Anne Hathaway is kind of annoying, I can’t helped but be moved by that song.  I am not totally sold on this movie just yet but… Read more »
