Adult coloring books have seen a surge in popularity over the last year or so. With high pressure jobs and hectic home lives, many stressed out adults are starting to see the benefits of carving out a little bit of time for creativity. Coloring books are a really great way to do something fun and creative that doesn’t require a lot of materials of preparation. Just grab a box of crayons or colored pencils and you’re ready to go. It’s a great activity to enjoy solo or with the whole family.

Entering into the coloring book arena is veteran artist and illustrator Mark Cesarik. Cesarik has done a lot of design work for Free Spirit Fabrics, graphic design for products and fine art illustration. The Super Awesome Coloring Book features 50 original coloring pages and features a large variety of themes – from traditional fare such as florals and geometrics to quirkier illustrations featuring polar bears, sewing machines, buttons, astronauts, fishing lures and modern chairs. There’s a wide range of whimsical designs and there is sure to be something for everyone in this delightful coloring book.

While I think that adult coloring books are a bit fad-ish, I think they are a good fad, one that encourages people to make time for a little creativity in their lives. They’re also great for families and I can imagine sitting down to color with my nieces and nephew for a few minutes of coloring fun. The Super Awesome Coloring Book is a great addition to the coloring book line up. The images are a unique and you are only limited by your own imagination.
