The Back-list TBR Read-a-Thon

July 21, 2015 Reading Challenge, Thuy 3

I was supposed to post about this read-a-thon earlier than this, but time just got away from me. As you can tell by the title though, The Back-List TBR Read-a-Thon is a reading challenge to, you guessed it, get some of those really old books off your bookshelf. Like any book lover I have a very large list of unread books that I am always meaning to get to. This is great but, as time goes on and new books come out, those books that I found so exciting get relegated to the bottom of the pile. When my friend Crystal over at Books Unbound suggested a read-a-thon to focus on some of those older books, I did not hesitate to say yes.

The rules of this are pretty simple. Just read as many of your older books as possible in the next week. I am pretty realistic about my goals since I am not the fastest reader and we are only doing this for a week. However, I am going to aim to read 2 books during the read-a-thon. I haven’t decided which books yet but I will probably go through my library tonight. If you want to join, just let us know in the comments below. This is a super relaxed read-a-thon. You can re-post the readalong banner if you’d like on your own blog.

Who else is trying to catch up on their reading this summer? I wish I had summer break so I could really read all summer long. I guess I will just have to do my best and hopefully I will get some older books read before this challenge is over. Let us know if you plan to particiate. Happy reading!

Oooh, this sounds awesome! And my bday is this weekend, and I always pick one book I’ve been DYING to read for my birthday…so maybe I’ll do a back-list title! THE OATHBREAKER’S SHADOW and SABRIEL and A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC have all been singing to me for a while!!! I’m reading THE IMMORTAL HEIGHTS right now and have to skim through a bit of another ARC for interview Qs for a tour first, though…But I love this idea and might jump on! :)

Happy early birthday, Bonnie! I don’t do a birthday book but that sounds like a fun tradition I should adopt. Sabriel has been on my list for a long time, too, though all of those sound really good.
